Sincere thanks to all who responded to my initial enquiry for
information on this technology.

The responses have certainly been thought provoking, and although the
general consensus for low-cost, low-volume, all-round rail photography
still appears to be "digital - yes, but not just yet", it looks like
the break-even point may be months, rather than years away.
