The reason for the ICE sets replacing the 2000 class is because the 2000
class have all brokem down. Th eIce sets are used because an EMU or SMU
do not have refrigeration facilities for the driver and guard, which the
ICE stes do. Because the service shuttles between Yeerongpilly and
Corinda, there is nowhere for train staff to store their food during the
shifts. My soucre is a QR guard.

As to their future use, no plans at present, however the Rosewood
Railway Museum has one 2000 class set, which will hopefully operate when
the line to Rosewood is restored back to running order.
