I doubt it will get off the ground by then. Theres only been $20
million allocated for it with the government trying to get the private
sector to come up with the rest. This seems unlikely, unless its
completely separate from the rest of the system like the Sydney one,
with a premium fare that is such poor value youre better off getting a
taxi, especially if theres two of you.

The present plans are also very much opposed by local residents and by
most of the MP's in the NW suburbs. The PTUA does not support them
either. I suspect the airport rail will be politically impossible until
the plans are revised, and this will take time. Even then theres still
a lot of opposition to the use of the Broady route that will have to be
placated as many residents have a hardline NO to that route regardless
of the design.
