I remember those days to, although a serious mistake usually sent you back
to the shed at DELEC for 6 months. It would seem the "Railways" have always
catered for idiots. Why else would they let a certain driver keep his job,
after he refused to go past a green signal because it was possessed by the
devil.

I could list all the star performers, and their infamous f**kups over the
years (and these people invariably kept their jobs), but I don't think this
ng would appreciate a 1 meg post.
