Drivers aren't required to wear steel caps, just leather uppers. The Driver
in question had been trying for 2 years to be supplied with adequate
footwear. The employer *should've * been prosecuted.

In the meantime thousands of passengers were delayed when he wasn't there
to work his train that was just coming in. Hundreds of dollars was wasted
calling out another Driver the next day to fill in as the stood down Driver
had to make a statement over the ridiculous matter.
