Re: Mudgee reopening

A couple of issues.

1. The RoadRailers are alive and well, and running on a regular basis. NRC
operates two return trips per week between Sydney and Perth, as well as the
Melbourne - Adelaide - Perth traffic.
2. There was strong talk at one stage that there would be sufficient traffic
from the Mudgee area to sustain the line. The local meatworks, reputedly with
one of the best reputations in Australia for processing for export, indicated
that it could supply something like fifteen units (never stated whether it was
fifteen containers or fifteen wagon loads - probably be the equal of thirty
slots) daily. I am sure that if the appropriate marketing was undertaken other
industry could be enticed to use a service. Not necessarily operated by
FreightCorp, though.
