So your one of the poor gullible sods who belives everything writen in
newspapers (and then thinks that makes them an instant expert)!

<<it is rumoured that they still haven't paid the dollar for the top end of
the branch>>

That bit is true. Which shows that the DSRM directors are prudent and
"chris" (who posted that he would pay his dollar now) better have a big bank
balance avaiable. The settlement of the purchase is being held up because
the SRA have yet to honour their agreement to fix the Bobo overbridge. IF
DSRM buys the line prior to the repairs being carried out, DSRM will be held
legally responsible for this bridge. It has a nominal 15 tonne capacity, but
in recent years it has deteriorated and is now limited to 5 tonnes. In spite
of this, it is used by many 40 tonne log trucks each day. If one of the
trucks falls through the bridge they can sue (don't bother to argue that
this does not make sense - it doesn't - but thats the way it is).

If DSRM completed the purchase, they would be at risk of being sued. The
sequence of events must be that the bridge is fixed, responsibility for the
bridge is then passed to the local council, and the sale of the line
proceeds.

<<further more it is believed that they are actually removing line to lay on
their museum site>>

Beleived by whom? Only the stupid and gullible. No part of the branch line
has been removed, nor is there any plan to do so. The rail being laid on the
ajoining land has come from numerous sources, typically from disused
industrial sidings (the most recent example being Simms Mascot).

BTW Joe, are you game to put your real name to your posts?
