Re: Dubbo XPT hits truck



A couple of comments.

1. Usually, even if the truck is insured the insurance does not pay, as the
driver is high on drugs etc (dont know the details in this case). The truck
driver goes bankrupt and the track owner,/ train operator is left holding the
bag.

2. The decision if booms etc should be installed or not is usually a financial
trade off. Is it better to spend a limited amount of funds on booms or lights,
or on the many other calls on money such as concrete sleepers, rail replacement,
geo-tech sits etc.
