Dear Andy B,
If you are a little "narrow minded", The Illawarra Light Railway Museum
Society will be operating the 610mm gauge steam locomotive "Tully 6" (0-6-2T
by Perry) on Easter Sunday. The Museum site is on Tongarra Road, Albion
Park. Albion Park is approximately half way between Wollongong and Kiama and
is about 1 hour's travel south of Sydney. See our website at
http://www.gghome.com/ILRMS for a detailed map and a picture of the
locomotive.
Steam passenger service is usually available from about 11:00am, depending
on how long it takes us to get steam up. Diesel hauled train rides will be
available from about 9:30am. The last train is usually between 4:30pm and
5:00pm. Other attractions on site are a miner's tram ride and a 7.25" gauge
railway, and a picnic area. Unfortunately our display of stationary steam
engines, pumps and winches will not be operating due to problems with the
boiler that powers this display. Light refreshments, railway souvenirs and
books are on sale. We also have a Shay under construction in the "Yard"
Diesel hauled train rides also will be available on Anzac day and the
following Thursday. I hope to see you there sometime, Regards, John Garaty,
Sales manager ILRMS
