Why are they bunging in another platform? To increase station capacity?
Good, perhaps now that there's a spare platform for terminating trains, we
might see the via Granville trains terminating at Macarthur too instead of
Campbelltown - at present, only via East Hills trains terminate there,
meaning a change at Campbelltown or Glenfield if you want to go from
Macarthur to Liverpool...... and lower service frequencies too.
Another thing that bugs the hell out of me about Macarthur - there's a bus
terminal right there next to the station - but no buses use it! To get to
the bus stop, you have to walk the entire length of that elevated walkway;
wind your way through the Macarthur Square shopping mall; emerge at the
other end and wait at the bus terminal there. Why did they even bother
building a bus interchange at the station in the first place?

Bradley.
