The rerouting of train 9084 (ex Echuca) will start on Tuesday 4 April
2000 A/C track maintenance between Sydenham and Bendigo. It is meant to
run via Toolamba until about Friday April 28. The train number will
change to 9302. An extra driver will have to be supplied between Echuca
and Toolamba, as this section is not driver only territory, although
what has to be done for a line to be a doo line. Another thing that
might happen is the speed dropped to 30 km/h as no one likes the idea of
a G class on the line between Toolamba and Echuca as it might split the
track.
This line has had a few problems of late such as farming equipment going
over it and catching the line and ripping it up off the sleepers this
has happened twice lately. Note this only the goods from Echuca and
not the one to Echuca, and that two hours is given between Echuca and
Toolamba it can be done in 1:45. Also this could be a good chance to
use the doo x class to keep the speed at 40km/h between Toolamba and
Echuca as they can spin the x at Echuca.
