Note from the Alice.

The Alice Springs rail yards have had the look of
neglect about them for some time now with weeds and
rubbish everywhere. Nice to report that somebody has
decided to clean the place up a bit, considering it is
right in the guts of the Town, it is kind of hard not
too miss.
The previous owner AN, did try to keep up appearances.

Meanwhile NRC still insist on entering and leaving the
yards with very long trains via the gantry road at a
snails pace. Because of the convoluted entrance to the
gantry road the speed is _very_ slow. Last Sunday at
12 noon a long train departed with a huge amount of
traffic held at the Larapinta level crossing.
This is only aggravating the situation and giving the
people who want the line to bypass Alice more ammo.!
Why they insist on using this line and not the "normal"
entrance used by AN in days of old probably has
something to do with efficiency NRC style.
