Re: Echuca Vic happenings

Aus loco discussion mailing list
Further to yesterdays "rag" from me, X44 is last nights changeover loco. However, it did not work the Moulamein NSW & return this morning. Instead, it is laying dead in Echuca yard right now - don't know if there will be a Deni NSW & return this afternoon. 9083 (G + X class) will probably do the usual Fri. night arrival and stow before the G class is lit up at 1230 hrs Sunday for its usual run to Deni NSW & return. It should then work with X44 on 9084 to Melb. at around 1830 - 2000 hrs Sunday night.

Todays trivia...  B80 soon to be outshopped from WCR Ballarat in a striking Union Pacific USA -like LIVERY was the first loco to traverse the then newly-constructed but unopened rail bridge across the Murray river here in Echuca Vic in March 1988. It pushed a ballast train up and onto the bridge dumping rocks as it went. Well, the hoppers were at least... See, I said it was trivia!!
