NTs and NSUs

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Afternoon all,

The discussions centred around the CR's NSU and NT class locomotives has
been fascinating. I believe a book is being prepared on the NT locomotives.

A question that I have been wanting to ask for quite a while is ... what
sound did/do they have. An Alco or EE burble? A GM type rumble?

Alas the only NG CR locomotives I have seen/heard in action have been the
NJs at Alice Springs back in 1980. A regret that I have is that I never
travelled on the NAR or the NG CAR.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!
