OK! OK! I give up I can't take it any more. Once the centre of the universe
for sightings, locomotive types and liveries South Australia seems to have
lost its claim to be centre of the Australian railway universe!
Sunday afternoon 19/12 I made a quick escape from the in-laws seasonal
family festivities at the Redhill pub and made a bee-line for Coonamia (Port
Pirie). East and westbound SCT service crossed here, MP9 behind
ALF20/CLF1/ALF18 and PM9 behind ALF21/CLP10/CLF5. While both trains were
impressive in size, the lure of a green box cab on the front and a train I
chased numerous times before, made it really hard to get enthused to chase
PM9 down to Lake View.
Then I come back to work on Monday to be regailed by tails of Xs, ELs, 47s
on the Main South, 81s and 48s on 2500t trains into Melbourne and of course
the promise of L class in and out of Melbourne sometime in the New Year. Put
this together with Bulldogs in FV and FP liveries (Plus X, and Ts in FV
colours), the return of the S class..... the list goes on and suddenly life
over here seems a little bit dull!
Cheers
Mark (tongue half in cheek!)
