Aus loco discussion mailing list
Hi All,
Incase anyone is interested, today's 9137 from Geelong consisted of G527 +
G521 (may be incorrect on this one) + S301 + X43. Listening to the S
(seemingly) do all the hard work was great. The smoke pouring out of the S,
along with that almighty S class sound could be seen/heard from miles away.
This left Geelong at approximately 14:30 with no less than about 12 grains,
a few Gypsum hoppers & open wagons, about 3 or 4 cement hoppers (VPCF or
similar) and a number of oil tankers.
Also seen at Somerton loop waiting for a very late XPT to cross at about
09:30 was the SM(4?) which had 81 + 81 + 48 + 48. It would be nice to see
some sole 48's doing some work down here in Vic :)
Finally while down in Geelong, I happened to see the 4 flat-top T's that
reside at Bob White Electrics up near north geelong. The time that I saw
them, they didn't appear to be doing anything. Does anyone know what the
status of these locos is?
Regards
Michael.
