Hi all

Can't answer you on all that followed. QR were often known to change
specifications for different excitation levels etc within classes esp
1720's but known among others for different duties such as commuter
and freight

TE itself is a figure expressed as a percentage of the weight of the
locomotive in ideal conditions.. usually the optimum was considered to
be 30% and generally 25% prior to Super Series, GE Sentry etc so a
loco which weighed 200,000 lbs could deliver a maximum of say
50-60,000 lbs of Tractive effort. The Speed quoted is the minimum
speed the motors need to be rotating at to avoid overheating and is
different for gearing

Definitely the last three... I witnessed on several occasions these
units coming into Devonport on Dynamic
