Definitely the last three... I witnessed on several occasions these
units coming into Devonport on Dynamic

Courtesy of GEC's Operating Manual for 1320, 2350 & 2370 classes, I can confirm the 1300 / ZC class as also having dynamic braking. Incidently, what was the difference(s) between the batches 1300-19 and 1320-44?
There were variations within the 1320-44 group also: eg. 1320-29 had carbon pile voltage regulators whereas 1330-44 had the electronic version fitted to the 2350 / 70 classes.

Also, in regards to another occasional thread, the Manual reccommends that when towing dead-attached locos: "If the towing distance exceeds 100 miles, the traction motor brushes and commutators should be examined before the loco is returned to service". Part of the reasoning is as follows - as the traction motors are axle-hung (and are therefore subject to 'road' shocks), "when passing over points and crossings, traction motors receive a mechanical shock which may be sufficient to lift the brushes from the commutator". This will cause problems (potential for flashover) when the locos are powering at higher speeds or under dynamic braking but from my experience with DC machines, it would take a hefty thump to totally dislodge a brush from the brush-holder. The most likely failure would be the brush sticking up in the holder, clear of the commutator.
