My understanding is as follows.
- 42210 and 42219 are complete and operable but have well worn wheels
that have had their final turn.
- 42205 is reported to have a crack in the underframe and has no
traction motors and life expired wheels ex 81 class.
- The remaining units are all without traction motors and all have well
worn or life expired wheels. I should also point out that all of these
units should have had a major overhaul many years ago but as they were
considered to be towards the end of their lives they were not
overhauled. Every unit has an engine and main gen but I believe some
bits have been removed during the  time they were in storage. Don't
expect to see the incomplete units back in service tommorow.
