RE: [Ausloco] And the 422,s.
Whether 42205 becomes a donor or a surgery patient depends on the extent of the frame deterioration and the locos's overall condition. A simple fracture is 'relatively' easy to grind out and re-weld but if the frame is extensively fatigued, then it's probably 'goodnight from him'.

Supposedly so, that's why it was removed from Orange-Dubbo train order
test workings and replaced by 42207. But, as the discussion has been,
not all are likely to be rebuilt - some will just provide parts, so
42205 will be a candidate for this.

Hi all,
Just a query. Doesn't 42205 have a cracked frame? I think that
was
the reason that it was used for supplying air to wagons thet were being
prepared or fixed. I seem to remember that at one stage it was
permanently
located in the up yard at Lithgow.

Jamie
