I've just picked up a copy of the ARHS Williamstown
Railway Museum Guide Book and in relation to the VR 'E' class electrics they
state that "One of lthe class was later allocated as yard pilot at Jolimont
passenger yard and painted green and gold."
I knew they were used as yard pilots at Jolimont - but
"green and gold"? Can anyone shed any light on this as I
have not heard of the E class being painted anything other than the original
black and then into the traditional VR blue and gold?
