[Ausloco] Freight Australia in Cowra District
Freight Australia ventured to Cowra and Greenethorpe today with their first
grain workings.
Train No.9381 from Port Kembla arrived Koorawatha this morning behind
G542/G522/G543/T399/T409/T390. The G classes were detached from the train
and worked light engine to Cowra where they were shut down in the yard.
(First G class units to Cowra. First 3000hp units to Cowra.) Meanwhile the T
class units deposited 12 wagons for loading at Koorawatha and then ventured
on to Greenethorpe with the remaining 28 wagons.
When loading was complete the T's worked to Koorawatha where they were
replaced by the three G class units for the journey to Port Kembla. The T's
then travelled light engine to Cowra where they are now stabled in the yard.
T408 is also at Cowra, under repair in the roundhouse by LVR.
I understand a FreightCorp grain will work to Greenethorpe tomorrow with
quad 48s. Another Freight Australia train is expected on Thursday. (Don't
know if the T's will remain in Cowra till Thursday.)
For those wishing to photograph the workings the weather in the Cowra area
in the next few days is predicted cold, wet and miserable.
Regards
Lawrance Ryan
