RE: 422 class farewell update

Despite leaving Berrima junction after dark, the sound they made heading north could be heard for quite some time in the still night... Yes, it was good to faces to names!

Subject:	422 class farewell update

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Evening all,
Well, the 422 class send off turned out to be a disappointment for those of
us that I came across.
Late running seemed to be the order of the day, with the cross at Tarago
with SP21 taking over half an hour, plus it was fairly hot down that way
which made conditions uncomfortable.
And to make things worse, one of the old girls was having trouble with her
auxilliary generator and it was decided to add 8141 in the lead at Goulburn.
I left the train at Goulburn at 1700 and it still hasn't turned up here in
Bargo although it had to attach loading in Berrima.
Still, I did get to meet some fellow Auslocoers which made up in part for an
overall disappointing day.
Very little running on the main south which didn't help matters.
Can anybody confirm locos on 2PW4 this morning? I managed to forget to write
them down. May have been NR95(?)/107.
Best regards
Ivar
