Kimore East

Aus loco discussion mailing list
G'day all.

I spent a very enjoyable day photographing around Kilmore East and Broadford on Tuesday, and offer the attached selected sightings if they're of interest to anyone (MS Word 6/95 document). First chance I've had to get to a computer, hence the delay in posting.

Of note:
  • Freight Victoria trains seem to run to very consistent times, comparing these sightings with those that I made at the same location four months ago, and those that a mate made a few weeks back.
  • Kilmore East is highly recommended as a great spot to see a considerable variety of trains in a very scenic location, and given the curves in the line if you move around just a bit you can nearly always get the lighting right. Despite the cancellation of the two up and two down quarry trains, we still saw 34 trains between 6.30 am and 7.30 pm.

Some of my timetables are so far out of date as to be of no real use. If anyone can help with some of the missing train numbers I'd appreciate that.

Cheers,
