X class traction motors can only be cut out in pairs. IE....TM's 1&4, TM's 2&5,
TM's 3&6. They can not be cut out individually.....with two traction motors cut
out, then the full  load must be reduced by 1/3 of that for an X class. Single
traction motors can only be isolated on G class locos. X 45's water leaking
problem is still evident, even after a brief stint in the workshops for repairs.

The combo was altered to run the lighter train back to Melbourne (SCT usually
about 2,000 tonnes compared to TNT with 3,000+ tonnes) which I relieved at South
Dynon Junction today for a quick shunt to Appleton Dock.
