Being a Mk1, I think it has little hope of a FreightCorp reprieve. Who was planning to preserve it?

Listed as Stored Lithgow : 4842. This unit was previously Lithgow yard
shunter, but I am told that it has been relieved of its traction motors and
electrical cabinet to repair fire damaged 48110, so 4842 will probably not
be restored to traffic or preserved as was the plan. A pity, because it
still has a reasonably good paint job and was the only 48 class I have had a
cab ride in (Christmas Day 1997 from memory).
