I'm sure the 43 class have auto transition, it was only the 40s that were manual.

          would the 43 have been MU compatible with the 49 or did it have a second crew? I seem to recall that the 40 and 43s had manual transition and were not able to be MUed with other classes unless they had another crew in the second unit.
