Peter,

3984/9383 has been the set running with 30 cars, while 3982/9381 has had 40.

I would assume that as X45/40 are rostered together (sited re previous 
posting), they would have to be on the shorter/lighter of the two sets, ie 
3984/9383.

This has been called the 'canola train'. (Again re earlier posting).

I guess depending on loadings, that this could always be subject to change.
