Re: Cooks River & Enfield Yards, 3/4
Aus loco discussion mailing list
A visit to Cooks at 4.15pm revealed not alot at all.
EL62/58 hadn't moved
EL52 was idling
EL61 was looking ready to take SM7 - but I'm not saying anything !
4814 was sitting in MCS and ready to start shunting.
8177 was in New Yard.
Botany was quite exciting for 5 minutes.
NR's 14/118/44 with 30 flats and gons, were waiting at Gelco at 4.45pm
for a train (didn't know what though)
4.55pm came and in the distance was that sweet sound of alcos, mmmm
good, a pair of 48's. I was pretty wrong ! and quite surprised !
Round the corner came 4701/4716/4486, all A end leading, hauling a
massive train.
16 gondolas - all were ex-AN except for one which was V/L
8 RSA 40' flats, NQJX
11 60' flats, all ex-V/L except for two which were Austrac
All up that makes 81 slots which I think were all filled.
Don't often see a crossing of triple loco hauled trains on the Botany
line, I have seen a quin cross a pair but thats about it.
Hope you enjoy, Chris.
