I wonder if the 442s headed off with one NR to Nyngan. Can one 442 travel to
Cobar or are they too heavy?

Seen today departing Parkes was two NR's No 1 end leading with a Silverton
442s. Sorry didn't catch any loco numbers. This train left Parkes at 11:50
and travelled via the Main West.
Fans of the 80 class can witness all the turntable roads at Lithgow full of
them. There are also a few more scattered around the complex. We have all
witnessed this before (after National Rail were finished with them) so don't
dispare, they may one day be back again!!!
Regards
Dave
