City circle tram (free)

This tram has been specially created as a tourist service. It circles the central city (see the route map) and provides handy access to many places of interest.

Tramcar restaurant (not free)

Would you like to travel the streets of Melbourne in a historic W-class tram while you dine? Although this restaurant is not cheap, the experience is unique and it is very popular - bookings must be made well in advance. The restaurant started out with one tram, but has expanded to three now. More information and pictures are available (at a US-based site).

(This text was taken from an advertisement in Discover Melbourne & Victoria, March '98, one of those glossy giveaway tourist booklets you can find wherever tourists go. Apparently the service has been operating since November 1997. I know nothing else about it.)
