This layout's construction commenced during 1996 to replace an earlier N gauge layout. The layout had reached the scenery stage by the time of our annual exhibition that year (end of July), and we continued with the scenery work as a demonstration for the whole two days at the exhibition, virtually completing the layout. This generated a tremendous amount of interest with the public.

Since then the layout has been to many exhibitions, in and out of Sydney. The layout is a double track folded loop with storage tracks, so there appears to be 3 running mainlines visible. It is of indeterminable style, so that most types of rolling stock can run be without looking out of place. Therefore, depending on which members are operating, you may see Australian, American, English, European or Japanese trains running (probably not all at the same time!!!).

This layout is contructed with 3 modules and the finished size is 4.5mts * 0.9mts (14ft 9inches * 3ft 1 inch).
