If things go according to plan, CityRail will be running all night. The
exception is the precautionary Y2K shut down between 23.45 and 0.15. If
things go horribly wrong (e.g. no electricity), it could be a long time
before trains start rolling again.

As a matter of interest, Ansett is grounding itself between 23.00 on 31/12
and 12.00 on 1/1.
