Alice to Darwin Line <> Politics and East Timor.

All of sudden the East Timor joint venture has had the
pollies and others up this way commenting on how useful
the new line would be in times like this.  
Funny how all that military hardware found its way to
the top end of the NT with the nearest railhead almost
1600 Kms South.

Meanwhile others have cautioned that the line will not
be built unless the Feds tip more money into it.
There is a meeting scheduled in Canberra soon between
the NT, SA and Federal governments.
High on the Agenda, .......more taxpayers money.

With the bill for East Timor racking up millions per
day, I would think the chances of further government
funding for the Alice to Darwin line very slim.
