Well, not exactly. The tram track sits in cradles that support it clear of the
QR rails. It is installed in a number of locations, many more were to be
installed when I left QR, not sure of the situation now.

The one installed on the main line south of Mackay (forget the name of the loop
now) was interconected with the CTC and signalling system. It was however hit by
a train, and the built in shear mechanism worked preventing any signifigant
problems to the train.
