Bald Greek man delayed at Medlow Bath



A bald gentleman of Greek background was among nearly 100 passengers
delayed at Medlow Bath this morning (17 September 1999) when 8148
hauling the up Broken Hill pass ran out of water.

8140 rescued the train and was due to haul the train to Katoomba where
passengers were to be transferred to an interurban due to arrive in
Sydney at 1423.

The Greek gentleman was said his name was "Mr Strath" said the delay
had interrupted a number of business appointments in Sydney.

He said he had been visiting the central west to search for any remains
of "Garrard" locomotives. Unfortunately, no traces could be found, he
said.
