NRR [former NSWGR] 42109 / 07 in company paintwork did the honours today for the usual Sunday
passenger run from Murwillumbah to Lismore and return.
This month's Railway Digest P47 says the run terminates at Byron Bay but it goes to Lismore. The
luncheon trip is next week [1st & 3 rd Sundays].
Costs are $59 return for the non luncheon day; same cost if you get off at Byron Bay, Bangalow or
Lismore. Just about everybody got off at Byron Bay today with only a few off at Bangalow for the
Bangalow Markets. $85 for the luncheon trip. The dining car was on today's train.
The GM chant was terrific!! Best place for the sound is the climb up from Byron Bay to Bangalow. I
am not sure of the grade there as I don't have the track profile for the branch from Casino.
