Cooma Line

Does anyone known when the Cooma line closed (why?)? having driven down
there 2 years ago, it looks like within the last 5 years, as the Cooma yard
still looked in good condition. Road signals etc.
 The line to Bombala looks like it was some time before. Was the line ever
used or considered a possible passenger train route to the snowy. What
freight did it carry? There looks like some rolling stock along the line got
left behind in a siding before the road crossings were dug up.
