Travel pattern Surveying (melb)

Due to the inadaquacies of Metcard, travel pattern surveying is yet again
going on around town.

Friday morning during peak hour, a lot (over 10) CSO's were standing on the
outside of the barriers at Melb Central asking which station passengers were
travelling from.

Today (7:30am or so) on a down Glen Waverley train, there were about 15
people on board the whole train as it left Burnely, 3 CSO's got on and 2
survey people travelled with them. The inspectors checked tickets and the
survey people asked what station passengers were travelling from. Surely the
CSO's could do that too? (especially in the morning with a 1:5 staff to
customer ratio)
