Hi Robin,
For a first attempt it's actually quite good. However a few comments if i
may. [I am critical when it comes to web design, so please dont take
offence to anything below]
Firstly, and definately most important is that yellow on white is virtually
unreadable. This can easily be fixed by choosing a more suitably colour to
go onto white, or to use a background image of some sort.
Secondly, the images at the top of the page appear a tad 'rough'. It's a
very common thing with web pages and even I have made that mistake many
times. There are many ways of overcoming this, but when scanning the images
and resizing them within your image maniuplation program, ensure that it's
set to full colour(and not 256 colours). Let me know which program you are
using to scan and convert your images and i can advise you how to fix this
accordingly.
Thirdly, and this is not a bad point at all, in the future as the page
grows, it might be better to move the site all into individual pages, to
help with loading times and simplicity.
Now the good part :) Overall I have found the page load quite fast, and be
quite informative. That being a very basic but very important rule of
design. (we learnt in school, KISS. which means "keep it simple stupid". By
the way that comment is in no way a reflection on you or your site, its
what we learnt at school)
Things look promising!
Regards
Michael
