Benalla again

Well a week since we started to work Benalla without a signalman...and
already we have modified the shunt to make things easier.
Average shunt with an Oaklands split, is working out at about 20 mins on the
up, and 30 mins on the down.
The up shunt is actually about 10 mins quicker than when we had a signalman!
Only thing is that it is now all the responsibility is on  the two driver
crew. the yard, although lit, is very dark,and at the end of the week can
have many intoxiated tresspassers wandering around the yard.Anyway my turn
next week, so I will see for myself, I suppose
Further to my post about the new owner of the frame at Bennalla. The sale
was cancelled by ABB, on account that it may be required to modify Wodonga
Box. Seems that they need extra levers to switch out Wodonga at night and on
weekends.
We believe that a lot of Wodonga will be removed in the near future.
