The are a North America thing. Not just a "US thing". Poling pockets were used
in Canada, the U.S. of A and Mexico. All part of North America.
Actually, and more correctly, there were a North America thing. Poling pockets
were outlawed in the mid/end fifties. See my previous post on the subject of
poling pockets.
