Peterbrough Station news wed 10 th nov 1999.



Good afternoon from Peterborough 15:32 CST.
The eastbound Indian Pacific click clacked through
in no great hurry at 11:30 right on time, non stop.
Locos in charge NR1 and NR27.

Next train in was the westbound BHP freight at 13:45
enroute to Whyalla locos in charge NR101 and NR85,
 proceeded to stop on the loop and waited a few minutes for
 the Eastbound Trailer  Railer , Locos in charge NR36 which
sauntered through on the main line AT 14:00hrs
and came to a stop with leading locos opposite
each other, the train crews changed trains , then proceeded
East and West.
While all this was going on I was able to find out a few details
of the NR class loco NR85.
Horse Power  3000 kW
Model No     Cv40-9i
Mass            132 Tonnes
Bogie Mass  18.6 Tonnes
Manufactured by Goninan at
Bassendean W.Australia

Loco  No NR 101 is named
CrystalBrook - RedHill

I will be away for a few days helping with the
reaping on the family farm at Koolunga
(near Crystal Brook)
