I note that these wagons had hanging capacity as well as on floor capacity.and that
they were louvered. I asume this means that they were not refrigerated or iced in
any way.

Does this mean that there was a maximum "in transit" time allowed for such goods?
And does anyone know if the cargos were treated specially in Summer - eg sending
them at night during periods of hot weather etc.

In summer these wagons would have stunk - unless there was a cleaning regimen in
place - something the NSWGR wasn't all that good at doing - at least in other
spheres of its operation!
