The VHST project is in the final phase of the Environmental Impact
Study. Speedrail should start construction of a TGV line from Glenlee
Junction (near Campbelltown) to Canberra in March.

In the case of Sydney - Canberra, there is. Qantas is part of the
Speedrail consortium and intends replacing most of the short-haul
flights with high speed trains. Ansett was part of the unsuccessful
Capital Rail bid, which also included Virgin and Adtranz.
