Victorian Heritage Carriages/ V/Line -READ THIS

All carriages allocated to Heritage groups in Victoria are owned by the
remains of the PTC and are the historic register of rail vehicles. They are
NOT owned by V/Line Passenger.

The ownership will be probably transfered to the Department of
Infrastructure when the PTC is finally disolved.

The only rolling stock that the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre has of
V/Line is No.5 State Car and its support car the Mitta Mitta, which are kept
at Seymour to escape vandalism in the City.

The SRHC has no deals with V/Line because of this, and has to negotiate with
V/Line Passenger like any other group to run its trains.

The Avoca is now on the Historic Register and is not in V/Line possesion.
This car is being currently rebuilt by the SRHC for Railfan use. Its first
run will be on the Queens Birthday weekend.

I hope this clarifies the situation in Victoria.
