Super Series 42220

Hi,

Can anyone tell me which is correct.

1. The Super Series mechanism on 42220 has been removed, as
per Leon Oberg in "Locomotives of Australia.

2. The Super Series mechanism has NOT been removed and is
still in place and will be there until the   engine is life
expired. I have heard this verbally from several sources but
I am not able to pin down from whence it came.

Any information will be gratefully received.
