I came across a definition in the Collins English Dictionary (Australian
Edition), as follows:
----------------------------------
gunsel. n. U.S. slang
1. A catamite (defined as: a boy kept for homosexual purposes).
2. A stupid or inexperienced person, esp. a youth.
3. A criminal who carries a gun.
[C20: probably from Yiddish genzel; compare German ganslein gosling, from gans
GOOSE]
---------------------------------
Well, I suppose many (including those on this ng?) would consider my
locospotting a bit of a wild goose chase at times..... <g>.

Given the German connection, what about "Hansel and Gunsel" instead of "Hansel
and Gretel"? <bg>.
