    Your Mate was right, it was the St.Kilda Line
but it only uses the old
alignment from Clarendon St as the old viaduct
which connected the line to
Flinders Street was pulled down in the late
80's.  The connecting bridge
over the Yarra river remains for now (unused).

    The other light rail line uses the closed
Port Melbourne Line

    Look up an old Melway Street Directory and
you'll be able to see where
they used to go.
