Spencer Street and the Docklands

Spencer Street station has now become the centre of attention as far as the
docklands are concerned, but no real plans etc have been shown.

There was some talk of making it underground with a shopping centre above,
but is this viable/possible as far as diesel emissions etc are concerned.

There was also mention in the paper of all country trains starting from
Flinders Street but this idea died long ago? and surely is not possible with
the number of platforms and amount of conjestion at Flinders St.?

What does everyone think will happen to it?
What would you like to see happen to it?
Surely it will not/cannot  go the same way as the rail yard that once lay
next to it?
